Services for the elderly people in Karolin will become more accessible

Now social services will become even more accessible — a branch of the center of social services for the population has opened in the agro-town of Karolin.

The Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Zimnovod spoke at the opening ceremony of the branch:

– Today, together with the authorities, we are opening the third branch of the territorial center in the region, thus proving: the state goes to the people, where it is necessary. We know that in this village is dominated by the elderly. And an elderly person is an active person. Sometimes even our young people “do not catch up” with the older generation. The opened branch has a three-in-one format. It is located in the FAP building, i.e. in a health care facility. Next — an educational institution and a club. All this will allow visitors to keep up with the times, gain the necessary knowledge and, most importantly, realize their creative abilities and potential.

– Most recently, we opened a center of active longevity at ag.Karolin. I promised that we will continue to work on creating conditions for rest for the elderly in the future. The branch will also provide affordable social assistance, ”said Deputy Chairman of the Zelva District Executive Committee Sergei Loiko.

– Today in the territory of the Karolinsky village council live 1062 people. About half of this population is elderly people who need help. Therefore, one of the key reasons for opening a branch was the desire, firstly, to increase the availability and quality of socially important services provided to citizens, and secondly, to develop the infrastructure of the agro-town, ”comments Svetlana Zammoytna, director of the TsSON. — Since 2007, the stationary point of one-time services, which, by the way, enjoyed considerable demand, has already worked here. It should be noted that with the opening of the branch, their list will increase.

Now, a branch inspector for the main activities of the department of social assistance at home and a social worker for rendering one-time social services, such as tailoring, washing, ironing and much more, will work on a permanent basis in the branch. In addition, a weekly reception will be organized according to the schedule by specialists of the Center for Social Development — a lawyer and a psychologist. There are plans to visit the salon of mercy to provide humanitarian aid, as well as circle work with senior citizens — computer literacy training, weaving out of paper vines, etc.

The activities of the branch will cover the residents of the first agricultural towns of Karolin and Koshely, which will increase the coverage of the disabled population, thereby improving the quality of life. At the same time, the center of active longevity will continue to function. The gym is organized here, Scandinavian walking classes are held, together with the culture department, concerts and festive events are organized, where elderly people and people with disabilities are invited.

– We can confidently assure that the center turned out to be in demand — it is visited by over 20 people. We plan to continue work in this direction: to expand the geography — to use other village councils, to attract even more people, — Svetlana Zhamoytina notes.

At the grand opening, the premises of the branch were presented. After that, a concert of amateur artists, master classes in weaving from a rod, as well as tasting pastries prepared by visitors of the center of active longevity.

– 80 years lived in these parts — was born in Ivashkovichi, married in Karolino. Agro-town, of course, over the years, is changing for the better. Although not younger. I am glad that we, the elderly, are not deprived of attention. I would love to go to the center of active longevity, but the pressure jumps — I don’t risk it. But we will use the services of the branch. And, for example, it is difficult to do laundry with your hands, you know, it’s difficult, so we’ll take them to the laundry room. Previously, everything was on schedule, but now, they say, they will work every day. Convenient and fast. And I’ll send my daughter to learn how to use a computer. She tried it today — she seemed to like it.

– Undoubtedly, such a branch of the Carolynians is needed. Pensioners in fact constantly need something. I myself am from the purses. Constantly leave a request for a hairdresser.
